City Interested to Have Electric Bus For Transjakarta

Jakarta Provincial Government is interested to have electric bus for Transjakarta. 

I have conveyed this suggestion to Transjakarta thus could be analyzed

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno has asked PT. Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) to analyze electric bus usage. This bus is considered could replace medium bus in Jakarta.

"This is our innovation. I have conveyed this suggestion to Transjakarta thus could be analyzed," he said at Gandaria City, South Jakarta, Sunday (10/29).

Public Transportation Re-routing Should Be Realized Soon

According to him, pollution in Jakarta is mostly caused by medium buses which operated by Kopaja and Metromini. Thus one of the solutions is to have electric bus.

"Through pilot project, electric buses could be integrated with several routes," he expressed.

Although, infrastructures and other supports for electric bus are also needed to be concerned.

Meanwhile, PT. Transjakarta Operational Director, Daud Joseph explained, his side will immediately analyze electric bus, especially from its safety, comfort, regularity and affordability aspects.

"Recently, Transjakarta buses quality becomes better. We don't want its quality to be lower due to electric bus. So, we need to consider about several aspects," he closed.
